About NSEA-R

The Mission of NSEA-Retired is to advocate for the NSEA family, to protect current issues, and to secure the future and quality of life for all retirees.

Resources & Member Benefits

NSEA - R is your go to source for transitioning into retirement with tools such as PERS, Social Security, Medicare and more.

PERS

Public Employees Retirement System of Nevada

The Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada (PERS) is a tax-qualified defined benefit plan created by the Legislature as an independent public agency to provide a reasonable base income to qualified employees who have been employed by a public employer and whose earning capacity has been removed or has been substantially reduced by age or disability. NSEA-R is active in ensuring members have all the information they need on Nevada PERS

Social Security

Social Security has provided financial protection for our nation's people for over 80 years. Chances are, you either receive Social Security benefits or know someone who does. With retirement, disability, and survivors benefits, Social Security is one of the most successful anti-poverty programs in our nation's history.

Medicare

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is the federal agency that runs the Medicare Program. CMS is a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). CMS also monitors Medicaid programs offered by each state. In 2017, Medicare covered over 58 million people. Total expenditures in 2017 were $705.9 billion. This money comes from the Medicare Trust Funds.

NEA Member Benefits

Our enduring promise is to make NEA members’ lives better. Through our carefully vetted, best-in-class programs and services, as well as know-how and solutions to help you be an empowered consumer, we’re here to help you make the most of your membership every day.

Senior Wellness

National Institute on Aging (NIA), one of the 27 Institutes and Centers of NIH, leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life. NIA is the primary Federal agency supporting and conducting Alzheimer's disease research.
